Science—Study Island assignment
Math—percent to fraction/decimal worksheet
Reading—reviewing on story elements (plot, setting, etc.)
2) Stressed the importance of completion by due date on Monday
The Various Types of Differentiation in the Classroom:
The classroom setting is small group in a resource room. The teacher uses differentiation strategies to meet the needs of all her students. She provides the support all her students need, and will give additional one-on-one assistance. The teacher uses direct instruction, modeling/explicit instruction, hands-on experience, class discussion with
question & answering, as well as assigning independent work. The teacher uses the whiteboard and dry erase markers for direct instruction and modeling. The teacher also uses mini whiteboards and dry-erase markers for hands-on experience and class discussion at the students’ desks. The teacher makes appropriate accommodations for the struggling students. The teacher provides concept-related information guide sheets for additional support. The teacher assigns worksheets, textbook questions, and Study Island for independent math work. The teacher will use scaffolding to help students make connections to previous concepts. She also reteaches the old and/or new concepts when/if necessary to increase comprehension. The students use calculators, multiplication table charts, and other helpful resources for the students.
